(Джон Жильберт Baker) — ботаник и геолог; род. в 1834 г.; преподавал ботанику в London-Hospital и был одним из соредакторов "Journal of Botany". Сочинения его: "The flowering plants and ferns of Great Britain" (Лондон, 1855); "North Yorkshire, studies of its botany, geology, climate and physical geography" (1863); "On the geographical distri b ution of ferns through the world" (1868); "Monograph of the British roses" (1869); "Monograph of the ferns of Brazil" (1870); "Flora of Mauritius and the Seychelles" (1877) и др.
